About the Austrian NMR Network
The Austrian NMR Network brings together leading researchers and research infrastructures in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy across Austria.
Established in 2026, the network connects complementary expertise at universities, medical universities and research institutions to strengthen scientific collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange and training, improve access to state-of-the-art NMR technologies, and coordinate the strategic development of research infrastructure.Our community spans biomolecular and structural NMR, chemical and analytical NMR, metabolomics, solid-state NMR, hyperpolarization and DNP, drug discovery, and methodological development.
By integrating NMR with complementary approaches such as cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, mass spectrometry, molecular simulations and artificial intelligence, the network supports cutting-edge research from fundamental molecular science to biomedical and industrial applications.
Our vision is to connect Austria's internationally recognised expertise and complementary infrastructure into a coordinated national ecosystem. Through shared access, collaborative research, training and strategic investment in next-generation technologies - including ultra-high-field NMR - we aim to strengthen Austria's international competitiveness and position the country as a leading European hub for NMR research, technology development and innovation.
